Aside from the odd lurking.

I'm much more active (if you can call it that) on my Furaffinity page these days. I go by the same name there.

I guess I drifted from DA, because I felt stressed maintaining two galleries at once, and my art took a more... content inappropriate turn for this place.

So, should I dust this place off and upload some new stuff?

I am no longer insulated from the global financial sh!tstorm, it seems. Oh well. I'd  be lying if I said I was sad to leave my prior situation. This is an opportunity, and nothing less.

I was laid off about 2 weeks ago. Sorry I've been absent from my usual haunts on the web. Time really blends together when the routine is ripped out of your day. I can hardly remember which night I went to which bar. Har har.

But seriously, I've been responsible with my earnings, so I can hold out for quite a long time while I job hunt. Good thing too, because the advertising industry has some pretty dim prospects these days. I only wish I had spent a little time beefing up my portfolio, but hey, plenty of time for that now. Probably take classes, visit a gym, keep the mind and body sharp.

In any event, I'm not going anywhere for a while.

I Choose Noise

Convention attendance:
AnthroCon - attempting to secure a place to stay. Mephit Furmeet - I'm SO there.

Computer seems stable now. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I decided to pull everything apart and give it the once-over with compressed air. Discovered some silver thermal grease was contacting the metal bracing structure of my after-market cooler. After cleaning off the excess I was sure to apply much less compound this time. Either that did the trick or I re-seated something. Now I can focus on organizing 5 years worth of art files and documents to save them from aging hard drives. Yaaaay. o____o

I'm going to display a lot of sketches as I get the time to scan and post them, so keep an eye on my scraps.

No further plans to attend conventions until 2009

I'm awake. I'm awake. Quit pokin' me.

I'm facing some minor but persistent health issues (headaches, breakouts) that may be complicated by pressure at work. On the plus side, I never knew I could be so productive under pressure. At least I can finally silence those little self-doubts. Now if only I could shake the art block. There's a single sketch commission left over from MFM that's been redrawn 3 times. Maybe I used too many snowflakes in Christmas ads at work and my creativity froze off...

I own an 07 Honda Civic. OWN. Screw monthly payments. Screw interest. I saved for 2 years, cut a huge check and drove it off the lot (hence, why I'm not attending any cons this year). This vehicle is getting pampered. Hope to have a photo or two in scraps soon. I suspect the salesman bait-and-switched me to a car with a higher mileage than the one quoted, but it was cheaper, after all.

Hell has frozen over. The PC at work now seems to outperform my home PC. I've been chasing gremlins for months unable to explain the random crashes. It's strange - reboots in the middle of a game or flash website, then reboots again at some point during the startup, then typically freezes at some stage of POST. Can't even get to the bios without power cycling and at times it even persists through that somehow. Diligently recorded error logs and windows bluescreen messages have proven nice and unhelpful. May just start the system disk over from scratch.

Maybe I should update more frequently so my journals cover fewer subjects?
